Bachata x Elektrika Choreography to Te Extraño- Xtreme x Gipsy-Moksi: Partnerwork, Footwork & Styling

Join Aldo Ortega for a 4 week session that will strengthen your skills in social dancing, sense of timing, memory and connection by learning choreography. We begin by focusing on a specific section of a song, practicing active listening by identifying the melodies in the instruments, vocals, as well as the changes in timing and feel. From there, we start to build on that foundational understanding by adding familiar movements from social dancing that play with the vibe of the music and lyrics. Connection is vital, so a lot of time will be spent on the proper physical aspects of partner dancing; Showing the Leads how to properly support a Follow and showing Follows how to properly support themselves.
Once we’re comfortable with the partnerwork, we will begin to add flourishes in our styling and attitude, through body movements or facial and eye awareness.
From there, we move on to the footwork section, wich will include traditional bachata footwork as well as steps found in house and shuffling. In this section, you’ll be encouraged to add your own flare and energy to the moves as they’ll be performed individually.
