Lead Ballet, Tap, Jazz Instructor For Kids

Position Description

We are looking to hire a passionate dance instructor to join our vibrant dance studio and teach children as young as 2 years old to teens. Desired styles of expertise include but not limited to Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Creative Movement and more. You will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students in a range of techniques and dance styles, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals in their chosen area of dance. Responsibilities

- Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
- Develop dance curriculum and prepare lesson plans. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of teachers and students.
- Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
- Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and concerts.
- Conduct group and private lessons as required.
- Provide a fun and creative environment.
- Keep up to date in your discipline and implement any changes to the dance routines and curriculum as needed.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Dance or qualification from an accredited college.
- Previous teaching experience required.
- Excellent communication skills.

Hours & Salary

Part time position paid by the class. Schedule depends on available classes and the candidate's availability. Based on experience, pay could vary from $38 per class to $50 per class. Paid gigs and events pay varies and it depends on the client's budget. All SWS employees are eligible for free group classes at the studio.

Front Desk Receptionist/Sales

Position Description

This is can be a part time or a full time position depending on the candidate's availability. Candidate could work all day during the day your afternoon/evening shifts. Shifts are also available during events and rentals at the studio. Candidate may be required to work at both of our locations.

Responsibilities

Always looking presentable during work shifts at the front desk and wearing the official Salsa With Silvia shirt. Be knowledgeable about the services, classes and events that the studio offers and always know where to find and refer to the most update information. Always be up-to-date with new offers, programs, events and services. Be the sales person and face of the business and guide the clients into information and deals that would be applicable to them so they can make an informed decision. Help clients with information that they need to obtain. Knowing the online registration system and be able to process variety of transactions quickly. Registering guests for classes, informing them about new classes, programs and events, processing payments. Politely answering the phone and providing necessary information. Performing light cleaning duties and always making sure the studio is intact and ready for the upcoming classes/events.

Desired Skills & Experience

At least 6 months experience in working front desk or a receptionist position. Prior knowledge and experience with MindBody is preferred. Be responsible and reliable and always arrive on time for shifts. Be a hard worker willing to impress. Be an excellent sales person and communicator. Be good with computers and must know how to type. Be diligent about clocking in and clocking out. Be kind and polite and a quick learner. Be a team player.

Hours & Salary

Starting pay is $18/hour. Potential for raise based on performance. All SWS employees are eligible for free group classes at the studio.

Camp Educator For Kids

Position Description

This can be a part time or a full time position depending on the candidate's availability. This position is seasonal (Winter, Spring or Summer breaks, days when schools are off). It is an ideal job for teachers who are currently working in a school or students who are on break and want to earn extra income.

Responsibilities

Camp educators are responsible for structuring the day-to-day schedule and work with kids 4 to 10 years old. Activities include: Spanish lessons, Arts & Crafts, dance lessons, field trips, educational activities (reading, writing, math). Educators work with a team of teachers and each teachers is responsible for leading specific sections of the daily schedule.

Desired Skills & Experience

A degree in child care or Elementary Education degree. At least two years of experience in the field. Must love kids, have lots of energy, be a leader and a team player.

Hours & Salary

Full time or part time seasonal position. Camps can be one day camps on Holidays or no school days, One-week camps during winter and Spring and 8 to 9 weeks during the summer. $16 to $25 per hour depending on candidate's experience and credentials. All SWS employees are eligible for free group classes at the studio.
