HOW DOES IT WORK?

BOOK YOUR CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT FOR JUST $25 (will be deducted from your class package)
EACH CONSULTATION IS 20 MIN LONG. You have a 10 min cutoff time. If you are late, your consultation will be cut short. If you are more than 10 min late, your consultation will be cancelled without a refund.
THE INSTRUCTOR WILL DETERMINE YOUR LEVEL AND ADVISE ON THE BEST LEARNING CURVE AND PACKAGE FOR YOU
BUY YOUR PACKAGE AND THE COST OF THE CONSULTATION WILL BE DEDUCTED SO YOU END UP GETTING A FREE CONSULATION
If you decided not to take classes with us we will keep the $18 to pay the instructor for his/her time

Tip 1: It's always good to drill the basics before you jump levels! Even if you have some experience, it's always best to get a solid foundation first!

If you have never danced Salsa or Bachata before, start with our 4-Week Absolute Beginner Salsa series. If you'd like to learn Bachata, then start with our 4-Week Beginner Bachata Series or explore other styles that we offer as long as they are beginner level or an All Level class. If you have taken lessons before, then use the second tip on how to determine your level.

Taken classes before and not sure where to start? Explore our syllabus videos (Under the LEVELS tab top horizontal menu) and try to match your level by how comfortable you feel with the moves. If you have never taken structured dance lessons, we strongly suggest starting with our 4-Week Absolute Beginner Series.

If our syllabus videos are not helping you decide where to start from, schedule a deductible consultation with one of our expert instructors and they will help guide you in the right direction. If you decide to sign up for our classes after the consultation, we will deduct the price of the consultation from the first package you buy.

How much do you want to commit? If you want to do our 4-week series then our 4-class pack is the best. Once you are past the Absolute Beginner level, you can take the higher level series plus our ongoing practice classes. Step up into our 10-class pack or unlimited if you want to get more practice and become a better dancer!

FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS & CONSULT BEFORE YOU MOVE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Each level is broken down into a 4-week series that covers the most fundamental moves that need to be studied in that level. Be sure to go through each level for best results! Before you move up, be sure to ask your instructors if you are ready. Once you pass the Absolute Beginner Level in Salsa you can also enjoy our ongoing practice classes in addition to the next level series.

For best results, we recommend that you combine our 4-week series with our ongoing practice classes for more patterns, moves, styling & drills.

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR TO CLASS?

If you are new to dancing, you don't have to have dance shoes but be sure to avoid sneakers or other rubber bottom shoes. Wear shoes that will allow you to slide on wood floor so you don't hurt your knees when you try to do turns. If you have dance shoes, it's best to wear those.

You can feel the love that was put into the studio from starting out in just a basement to two studios! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The teachers are patient, understanding, and energetic.

Salsa with Silvia is more than a dance studio. Lots of magic happens there. You’ve got all the basics- amazing instructors, good variety of classes in style and level, a professional business, and a safe and reliable environment. In addition, you learn how dancing is about much more than just moving your body. By joining the studio you enter a community, so you meet amazing people and make new friends. The owner Silvia is always engaged and she is always willing to help.

The teachers are experienced and patient, and there are different levels that you can choose from. You can either stay at your own level, or try others at the same time, its very flexible. They also teach Bachata and not Just Salsa, so you can enjoy both as I did. The stuff is really nice, and they also have a Social party once a month so you can practice your moves. Best studio I tried!

I took my first salsa lesson with Mario and it was excellent. It was obvious that he is a professional and very good at what he does. I'm an adult male and i was a bit scared because have never been inside a dance studio. He was able to teach me some dance steps and I look forward to having additional classes. The facility is new with a very nice design and professional operation.

My partner and I came here for our first private salsa lesson. I was a little anxious as I have no dance experience/rhythm and also wasn't sure how they'd handle two men learning two dance together. Our instructor, David, was absolutely awesome. He didn't miss a beat (..) and had such an easy way of interacting with us. He made even a nervous nelly such as myself feel calm and confident. The studio was also very nice and modern. We could not have had a better experience with Silvia's, and will be back for another lesson from David soon!

My fiance and I wanted to learn how to dance before our wedding, and we were fortunate to have Jason Potell as an instructor. Jason helped us develop choreography that matched a song we loved, and we had lots of fun working on it. The other great thing was that he helped us figure out our own style, and coached us in a way that enabled us to dance better as a couple, rather than trying to get us to follow a prescriptive routine. Thanks to Jason, we learned a lot, and we also had a blast doing our first dance as husband and wife.

I have now taken lessons at Salsa with Silvia for over 3 months and several classes. I have no hesitation in saying that Salsa with Silvia is one of the best Salsa schools in the Wash DC/MD area. The instructors at the studio are just amazing. I have taken classes with three of them, Kelly, Jennifer and Joffre, and I enjoy each of their classes.
