Hispanic Heritage Month: Salsa Dancing on WUSA9 in DC

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Salsa on WUSA9

Hispanic Heritage Month is here and we could not imagine a better way to begin than by celebrating salsa on TV and in our studio.

This past Wednesday, Silvia, the heart and founder of our community, appeared on “Get Uplifted” with Allison Seymour on WUSA9. She shared what salsa represents for our culture, the way it connects people, and the many benefits it brings to life, from improving mental health to lifting spirits.

The celebration came alive when Rafael and Yoii joined Silvia to dance on set and even taught Allison her first salsa steps. The energy and joy in the studio were amazing!.

We were also thrilled to highlight Yoii’s children’s book “Al son de los gatos” which introduces salsa to kids through rhythm and imagination. It was a perfect reminder that salsa belongs to every generation.

As Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep 15 – Oct 15) begins, we are grateful for this chance to share our culture both on screen and here at the studio. Salsa is more than a dance, it is community, tradition, and joy. Come celebrate with us this month and feel the rhythm that connects us all.

If you’re new to salsa or already love to dance, come join our classes, explore our class packages, or click HERE if you are new and start your Latin dance journey. We also offer corporate classes that bring energy, teamwork, and rhythm to any workplace, perfect for celebrating culture and lifting spirits.

Come feel the rhythm, connect with our community, and share in the joy of salsa!
